Outlining the steps for security and stability

Why is security important?

Both security and stability are of paramount importance to us. We intend to deliver a wonderful experience for users, who can enjoy using Mind Map Pro with the knowledge that they can interact securely with our platform.

How does it work?

Websites are hosted, or stored, on servers. Web hosting services provide the technologies needed for the website to be viewed when you type in the website address.

When you type in mindmappro.com, the hosting company will connect your computer to the server we use.

What is a server?

A server is a computer that manages network resources. Data can be stored and delivered securely from the server we use to other computers over the Internet. This is how you can access Mind Map Pro from your personal device.

How is data stored?

We follow best practices for data storage and make sure our systems are solid from the start.

While security is the highest priority for many cloud providers, we use Google Cloud Platform’s sophisticated enterprise cloud offering and highly secure server because it encrypts all of its data and communication channels by default.

Google employs the highest of standards for hosting and their data centers are equipped with the latest firewalls and security systems.

On top of this, we have implemented a number of additional layers of encryption, such as Kubernetes clusters, for heightened security.

Additional layers of protection

Kubernetes “is a system for automating deployment, scaling, and management containerized applications”.

In basic terms, we put our server into a virtual box or container. We add more or less boxes depending on contextual factors, like how many people are using Mind Map Pro at once. This automatically scales on demand to ensure our quality of service remains optimal.

Private servers

We offer private server installation for organisations that require complete separation or use onsite servers.

Please contact us to discuss using Mind Map Pro on a private server.

Additional security

In addition to the careful selection of our cloud platform and other technical solutions, we provide further levels of security through encryption:

HTTPS encryption

We use HTTPS (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure), which is the same as online banks and other secure websites. All data that is sent to or received by our servers is encrypted. This means that if you were using public WiFi and a hacker was able to intercept your data, our encryption ensures they would not be able to understand it.

Double encryption

In addition, we double encrypt data using a strong encryption algorithm. All data is encrypted twice. Double encryption means double the security.

How to improve security

You can also follow some simple steps to improve your own security:

  • Choose a strong password that is unique
  • Avoid choosing a password that you’ve used before
  • Avoid choosing a password that is common
  • Store your passwords safely using a password manager
  • Keep track of your team and Doodle privacy settings
  • Stay on top of user permissions for each Doodle.
